The Mall, Mussoorie

Mussoorie.The locals refer to it as Mansoorie after the Mansur shrub (coriana Napalenses) still growing on the hillside. Situated 6950 feet above the sea level. Captain young established this hill station in 1827 and his home was above the horse shoe shaped ridge.

Visitors came to Mussoorie for a view of plains and Himalayas. But the real push came in the form a Gun Hill Road which got its name from the gun being shot to tell the time.With time the gun gave way to clocks but the Hill Station gained popularity. Foreign tourist flock to this heavenly destination.Also, the decades of interaction with foreign tourists has imparted a unique spirit that embraces people form all walks of life.
